Program Offerings

The end of your products life cycle is just the beginning for Pharma Logistics. We handle every function associated with returned goods processing including inventory verifications, packaging and shipping, controlled substance transfers, returned goods authorizations, warehousing services, EPA compliant disposal and item level reconciliation. Through the use of Payback, our online returns management software, you stay updated on returns and are able to create unlimited reports.

Flexible Service Options

To move outdated or expired products into the credit phase as quickly as possible we have two options: pick up or box & ship.

  • Prepaid UPS ARS Groundtrac shipping labels
  • DEA 222 Request Form
  • Schedules III-V inventory sheet
  • Tamper-proof bags to ship narcotics
  • Shipping instructions and tips

Precision Processing

To ensure maximum credit recovery, all returned items are verified at arrival using barcode scanning. Forty-three different audits are performed on every product we receive and more than 1,300 + manufacturer policies are searched to determine the proper disposition of your returned item. Standard return policies are automatically overridden when your returns contract or a manufacturer’s exception provide a superior reimbursement.

Returns Management Software

Payback™ is our online returns management software which allows you to keep a better inventory of products eligible for return. With Payback you can monitor and track every returned item, access dozens of standard reports and create your own reports with our ad-hoc reporting tool. All information is easily accessible and exportable to assist you with better inventory control, purchasing decision support and regulatory agency compliance.

Item Level Reconciliation

Every credit you receive is reconciled down to the item level so your pharmacy receives every credit owed. Item level reconciliation ensures data accuracy and is important for trending and inventory improvement suggestions.

Waste Disposal

Both non-hazardous and hazardous waste can be processed at our facility. Hazardous waste includes: RCRA defined hazardous waste (P-listed wastes, U-listed wastes, D-listed wastes), state hazardous waste, NIOSH hazardous waste, and OSHA hazardous waste.

Although we make every effort to ensure you receive the most credits available, not all pharmaceutical products shipped to us are eligible for credit. When products cannot be returned, we assume regulatory responsibility to properly dispose of these items.

● Waste cycle visibility
Monitoring the waste cycle is easy with Payback. We inventory all products not eligible for returns, track those products at every stage of the process, and provide access to all corresponding documentation.

● Destruction documentation & reports
Destruction documentation, Certificates of Destruction, and the estimated return value attributed to your waste are all available online. Additional reports show waste amounts generated by organization, disposal code, therapeutic code, facility or department. Controlled substances that are returned to Pharma Logistics are disposed of via witness incineration and are segregated into separate reports for DEA reporting when needed.

Regulatory Compliance

We have implemented internal controls and procedures that promote adherence to applicable local, state and federal statutes and regulations. Federal agencies with which we comply include:

  • The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
  • The Department of Transportation (DOT)
  • The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
  • The Joint Commission (JCAHO)
  • The Prescription Drug Marketing Act (PDMA)
  • National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)
  • The Office of Inspector General (OIG)
  • The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
  • Regulatory Agency Training Requirements

No up-front service fees

We get paid when you get paid. Our service fees are derived as a percentage of the money your pharmacy receives in credit. While other companies invoice based on credit estimates, we reconcile every credit down to the item level so that your credit value is maximized with no financial risk.
